Maritime Gateway

Maritime Gateway is an initiative aimed at strengthening the ties between Aarhus University (AU) and the Danish maritime sector. It was created to promote the recruitment of AU students into careers within the maritime industry and to gather and coordinate the university’s maritime research, which is currently spread across multiple faculties.

By creating a shared platform for research, education, and collaboration with industry, we aim to leverage AU’s strong competencies and put them to use in developing new solutions and knowledge that can benefit both the maritime industry and society at large.

The project is anchored at Global Studies within the School of Culture and Society, where expertise in areas such as economics, political science, international relations, and cultural understanding will be combined with technical, natural science, and humanities disciplines.

This interdisciplinary focus will make Maritime Gateway a key player in the development of future maritime solutions, with a particular emphasis on sustainability and innovation.
