M/S Maritime Museum of Denmark

The M/S Maritime Museum of Denmark, also known as Museet for Søfart, is located in Helsingør (Elsinore), near Copenhagen. It's an award-winning museum designed by the renowned Danish architectural firm Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG). The museum is built within the walls of a former dry dock, with most of its structure below sea level, offering a unique and immersive experience.

The museum showcases Denmark's rich maritime history through interactive and sensory exhibitions. Visitors can explore the country's seafaring heritage, learn about the technology and mythology of shipping, and even experience what it was like to be a sailor or merchant in the 18th century. There are also activities for children, such as the Dream Ship (DRØMMESKIBET), where they can play and learn about maritime life.

The museum conducts research on various aspects of the maritime history of Denmark as well as the current development of the maritime sector.
