CBS Maritime

Copenhagen Business School is represented in Maritime Research Alliance by CBS Maritime which is a maritime business in society platform.

CBS Maritime coordinates the maritime activities and competencies at CBS and aims to develop maritime research activities in close association with the business community.

Established as a business in society platform at CBS in March 2013, CBS Maritime works as a cross departmental platform and is broadly embedded in the relevant research environments and teaching programs at CBS.

Maritime research at CBS covers a broad spectrum of questions of relevance to the global maritime sector. This includes topics such as: the dynamics of maritime clusters, the climate challenges to shipping, outsourcing and economic organization in maritime industries, risk management in commodities, the sources of nations’ and companies’ competitive advantage in global shipping, and the challenges and opportunities of commercial shipping in sensitive sea areas (such as the Arctic) etc.
