On 16 January 2024, the MRA network for maritime PhD fellows and postdocs organized an event at Copenhagen Business School.

At the event, we focused on greenhouse gas reductions in the maritime sector, starting with a presentation and discussion with Kiki Lyster Larsen, Business Development & Funding Manager @ Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping. Kiki gave an insight into how the centre works to accelerate the transition towards a net-zero future for the maritime industry. The presentation was interactive, and there was be plenty of time to ask questions. The program also included two project presentations from MRA PhD network members, Sotiria Lagouvardou on market-based measures for sustainable shipping, and Amandine Marie Clémence Godet on monitoring carbon emissions of ships. For us to better understand the current GHG regulations in shipping, Thomas Roslyng Olesen presented the legal frame from IMO.

The MRA PhD network brings maritime PhD fellows together and introduces them to the ongoing development in academia and industry via guest lectures, company visits, seminars, social events, etc.
